After nearly a decade operating out of a constrained, high-cost downtown Los Angeles data center, Dedicated.com leveraged Digital Realty’s PlatformDIGITAL® campus in Burbank, CA to:

Delivering high-performance IaaS

At Dedicated.com, our mission is to provide affordable dedicated servers, premium bandwidth, and white-glove service. We’re built for speed—not just in provisioning, but in sustained performance once workloads are live. In most cases, our customers provision servers the same day—or even the same minute—allowing them to launch new services, respond to traffic spikes, and stay competitive in fast-moving markets.

LogicForge has been a Dedicated.com customer for many years. Based in the U.K., LogicForge operates the global gaming brand LogicServers.com, which provides server hosting to more than 80 games, including popular titles such as Minecraft and ARK: Survival Evolved. Beyond gaming, the company also delivers custom software development, managed hosting, private cloud, and IT managed services for businesses.

As LogicForge expanded its work with U.S.-based studios and publishers, proximity became increasingly important. Supporting game launches, updates, and live environments requires infrastructure that can deliver consistent performance while staying close to players, developers, and partners.

Pivoting when downtown LA colocation constraints limited performance and growth

For years, Dedicated.com operated out of a downtown Los Angeles data center footprint. Over time, that location became a limiting factor.

Space and power were costly and increasingly difficult to secure, limiting our ability to scale and support higher‑density dedicated server deployments and colocation. Downtown traffic, parking constraints, and congestion complicated routine site visits—adding friction at a time when infrastructure needed to be more flexible.

From our perspective at Dedicated.com, it was clear these factors were hindering long-term expansion. Downtown Los Angeles had become prohibitive for us. There simply wasn’t enough space or power left to support how we needed to grow.

To continue supporting LogicForge’s development—and deliver the experience their customers expected—we needed an environment that removed constraints rather than introduced new ones.

Building a scalable foundation at Digital Realty’s Burbank campus

Digital Realty’s PlatformDIGITAL provided the foundation Dedicated.com needed to move forward. We already operated within Digital Realty’s ecosystem, and expanding into the Burbank campus, Dedicated.com was able to support LogicForge’s requirements without compromising performance, flexibility, or customer experience. Meeting those requirements depended on consistent, low‑latency performance and the ability to handle burst traffic without disruption.

While the new location is less than 15 miles from downtown Los Angeles, the difference was immediate. “LogicForge now has access to the space, power, cooling, and network capacity required for high-performance gaming and enterprise workloads—with the headroom and campus‑scale infrastructure needed to support more demanding, latency‑sensitive services as requirements evolve—and room to grow in Digital Realty’s Burbank campus,” said Aidan Taylor, Director at LogicForge.

The Burbank campus provides the foundation for future growth as workload requirements continue to evolve. Digital Realty’s investment in scalable infrastructure and modular deployment options enables us to accommodate increasingly dense compute requirements without compromising performance or sustainability. While the campus environment supports long-term scalability, additional operational advantages include on-site parking, easier access, and proximity to the airport.

The planning process stood out immediately. Dedicated.com has been part of many data center deployments over the years, but the level of detail here was different. In fact, during one planning call, a member of our team noticed a structural support pole running through our proposed cage space. Within minutes, the Digital Realty team updated the blueprints and adjusted the layout entirely, something we simply hadn’t experienced before.

That flexibility mattered, but connectivity was equally critical. Dedicated.com operates our own highly resilient private network, delivering premium bandwidth with built-in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection. We connect to 11 Tier 1 Internet Protocol (IP) transit providers and maintain open access to dark fiber and lit wavelength services, giving us multiple paths to maintain consistency during peak demand and high‑traffic events. In Burbank, we operate with hundreds of gigabits per second (Gbps) capacity across diverse paths and multiple points of presence, enabling us to serve customers locally and globally.

Executing a rapid, low-risk data center migration to PlatformDIGITAL

Downtime isn’t an option, especially for our enterprise customers and gaming environments that support players worldwide. Working closely with Digital Realty, we completed the migration in just two days—minimizing risk, avoiding customer disruption, and accelerating the time it took to realize the benefits of the new environment. It was one of the fastest and most seamless data center moves we’ve ever experienced.

Digital Realty supported both Dedicated.com and LogicForge before, during, and after the move. This allowed us to stay focused on our customers rather than infrastructure challenges. We did encounter a minor cross connect issue that took about a day and a half to resolve, but compared to other migrations we’ve handled, it was minimal.
