We have two data centers located in Chicago, the third largest city in the United States. Chicago boasts a diverse business base of four million employees that generate nearly $500 billion in annual gross regional product (GRP) in industries both mature (manufacturing and transportation), as well as emerging (green technology, information technology).
In 2012 the World Business Chicago’s Growth Profile documented more than 35 million sq. ft. either in development or completed outright throughout the metro area, a number eclipsing more than $11 billion in economic development engagement. When combined with its well-earned reputation as a world-class provider of air and rail transportation systems, it’s no wonder that “Sweet Home” Chicago has become America’s crossroads of global trade.
Since 2006, the our data center facility has provided access to more than 40 of the leading domestic and international carriers and physical connection points of the world's telecommunications networks and Internet backbones.
Located in the South Loop of the Chicago Central Business District, our 350 E. Cermak site is the premier mission critical interconnection, colocation and telecommunications facility in the Midwest. The facility offers access to the CME/LNET Exchanges, direct access to SFTI Network and other carriers via fiber to the other suites within the building.
The industrial-strength infrastructure includes four fiber vaults and three electric power feeds, which provide the building with more than 100 megawatts of power. Our 350 East Cermak location is currently the second-largest power customer for Commonwealth Edison, trailing only Chicago's O'Hare Airport. Grid power is supported by more than 50 generators throughout the building, which are fueled by multiple 30,000 gallon tanks of diesel fuel.
Looking to connect with customers in the Midwest? Digital Realty provides industry leading interconnection, colocation and data center services from its CHI2 location at 600 South Federal street location in downtown Chicago.

Like other Digital Realty colocation centers, CHI2 data center offers premier conditioned space as well as access control and state-of-the-art surveillance systems. CHI2 also complies with or exceeds International Telecommunication standards.
