On April 19 from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm, I’ll be taking part in a panel discussion at the upcoming Sixth Annual Greater New York Data Center Summit. The panel is called, “Best Practices for Public-Private Sector Industry Collaboration: Analysis of Northern Virginia's Growth Pattern”.
In recent years, Northern Virginia has become the country’s most active data center market, with the Ashburn area often affectionately referred to as “data center alley.” During this panel, the other panelists and I will discuss why and how Loudoun County identified and took advantage of the data center opportunity. Additionally, we will discuss what actions executive leadership took to enable this growth, and what kind of impact it has made upon the region and the industry. We will also discuss how data centers in the New York and New Jersey area can learn from the success Northern Virginia has seen.
I’ll be joined by Stuart Dyer, Business Development Manager, CyrusOne; Tag Greason, EVP, Quality Technology Services; Jeff Ivey, Senior PM, Corporate Office Properties Trust; and William McCausland, Key Account Development Specialist, Dominion Virginia Power. The panel will be moderated by Rick Drescher, Managing Director – Critical Facilities Group, Savills Studley.
