Here at Telx, we’re very interested in cloud computing.
Not only are Cloud and Connectivity Services an important part of our offerings—the growth of the cloud is also having an immense impact on the world of data centers. Growth in the cloud takes data center growth to support it, and our data centers are equipped to handle needs in the cloud, both today and in the future.
Earlier today, we stumbled upon an infographic that gives even more facts about the growth of the cloud across industries. It’s called “The Explosive Growth of Cloud Computing,” and tells the story of the growth of the cloud from 2008 to 2014.
A few interesting facts from the infographic:
- By the end of 2014, the global cloud computing industry is predicted to be worth more than $150 billion, up from $46 billion in 2008.
- Studies predict that more than 50% of all information technology will be in the cloud within the next five to ten years.
- According to a survey by Endurance International Group, nearly 75% of photographs are most commonly stored on the cloud.
